This is our first interactive content about Indonesian E-Commerce. In this content users can “sort” and “filter” the list based on many different parameters such as monthly visits, app installs, social media followers & no of employees.

Some interesting findings from our research:

  1. There is a fierce battle between Bukalapak & Tokopedia in every parameter

They are the two strongest local e-commerce. Always head to head in all aspects. The difference number is not more than 20%.

2. Alfacart as the youngest player have almost the same monthly visit MatahariMall

Both Alfacart and Matahari Mall was started as offline department store. Matahari Mall launched first in 2015 and Alfacart in 2016. In the past 3 months Alfacart monthly visits is 16M & Mataharimall = 18M.

3. Social media facts for the top 5 Local E-Commerce:

The average number of social media followers for top 5 E-Commerce players is: Twitter = 174,722; Instagram= 150,382; Facebook = 1,973,655

In average, their Facebook Fans is 13X bigger than their Instagram Followers

4. Fashion-type E-Commerce is the most followed merchants on Instagram

From the list of top 10 most followed merchant on Instagram, there are 5 fashion-type e-commerce on the list (Hijup, 8wood, Brodo, Berrybenka & Bobobobo)

5. Blibli have the biggest social media followers (Facebook & Twitter)
